Cats or Dogs?…
Which are you? A cat - person or dog - person?
I love both. I’m an animal-person. You can see it in my art.
That’s why I’m writing and illustrating books with cats and dogs.
I’m excited to announce, Learning English with Cat Idioms, book launch on October 20, 2026!
It will be available on Amazon. I’m currently struggling to get the technology smoothed out for Ingram Sparks publishing so it will be available for book stores to carry, too. But the Amazon is all set.
Technology Learning curve, ugh! Like many artists, I’d prefer to spend my time at my easel for hours letting the creative juices and paint flow onto the canvas, in solitude, in the art “flow”, but I’ve been spending time troubleshooting with technology layouts, color adjustments, text uploading, and too many files cluttering my computer desktop! All that energy flowing through my fingertips, tapping away while feeling lost is the “work” part of creating this book. But I do have to laugh because…
Ilustrations include: “cat in hell’s chance”….”raining cats and dogs”…”cat got your tongue”…”like herding cats”
In my twenties, I would send children’s book manuscripts one at a time to big publishing companies, wait a couple of months for the rejection postcards to return, and then revamp until I grew exhausted with the process and focused on my day job instead of creating books. I didn’t tell anyone because the process was arduous, and hope faded. Back then, I was writing stories I’d been telling to children at school , and never imagined I’d be illustrating any stories. I hadn’t drawn or painted at all. And that was before the internet.
I never imagined that in my sixties I could put my paintings and writing into bound copies of books on the internet. Times have changed, and I’m determined to keep evolving as a techy and artist, no matter my age.
