An Ocean of Projects

There is always a flurry of activity before closing the shop for a holiday. Finally, I’m giving into the heat of summer and shutting the doors for several weeks. That doesn’t mean I stop painting. It only means I will not be available to sell and ship original paintings in my “Portfolio Originals” Shop. These items are available to purchase and can be shipped after August 13.

All Print-On-Demand Items in my “SHOP” are available throughout the summer. So, for example, if you’d like this travel journal, go to the link below to order. I plan on packing my writing journal as well as my art journal during my summer vacation.

$13.84 in “Shop”, packs easily in your suitcase or carry-on bag.

What flurry of activity? Aren’t you retired yet?

Not really. Take a breath. Here goes…

  • I’m in a frenzy editing my final pages of the cat idiom book and in search of hiring a professional for a nice cover layout, as I struggle with the fonts, layouts etc looking kinda amateurish now. In late August I’ll get the final draft to them and upload to Amazon and Ingram Sparks.

  • Then there’s the book marketing including contacts, flyers, qr codes etc I’ve planned and sketched that will be part of the book launch. and actually announcing the launch day when I can see it in my sights for Fall. National Cat Day is in October so…

  • I’ve come back painting group of acrylics (on canvas) I’d like to finish to show locally. It will be about 9 canvases, but I’m only on #4, which might be enough to show around town to find a venue soon. Again, to-be-continued in August.

  • While working on the technology side of my cat idiom book, I’ve started sketching and painting my next book which will feature dog idioms. Both books are hand-painted in gouache. It will follow the cat idiom book..

  • Meanwhile, I paint African animals in preparation for the awesome dream-come-true Safari trip I’ll take for my travels. I’ll post some of these on Instagram in the coming weeks, so make sure to follow me on Instagram. You can link below.

THANKS FOR FOLLOWING AND I’LL KEEP YOU UPDATED ON ALL THESE PROJECTS AS THEY PROGRESS THROUGH AUGUST. REMEMBER, the shop is open with journals and prints but the portfolio of originals is closed for a three weeks. Enjoy the summer and stay cool.-Marti
