While living in the hills of Virginia, we were often visited by bears. They liked the bird feeder and would try to reach it high in the trees. We would bang pots to move them off the property. Once, my feisty cat, Kramer, chased one away. This piece was inspired by that innocent, unassuming bear that was so scared of my little cat. He stared, surprised before bounding away. This, of course , is cuter and more illustrative but it feels to me like the soul of that bear that thought he was just going to wander over to the feeder for a snack. Great for a children’s room or cabin wall.
