Pet Sitting and Pet Portraits
Summer Fun includes Pets
One of the things I enjoy doing is home/pet sitting for people when they are on vacation. I can get my “pet fix” and a mini vacation in someone else’s home for a weekend or week while they travel abroad. I can spend some time exploring different “barrios”(neighborhoods), working online, and finding new places to plein air paint. My husband gets a mini vacation from me, and at the same time, we can go on date nights or I can return for a few hours to work in my apartment studio.
Sometimes I can take some good photos of the animals that inspire my art. This June, I’ve spent a week with a shy cat named Zaza. We watch bird videos together and play with cat toys. While dogs need walks and feeding times and snuggles, cats need attention, too.
These days, retirees and digital nomads are around a lot and don’t want to leave pets alone for long, so I get the benefit of caring for four-legged friends (or family members).
I am always inspired to paint animals on my visits, so in this blog, I’m sharing some of my pet portraits. Check out my portfolio, and remember, if you want a pet portrait, you can contact me to arrange a commission portrait.
